The Maslon Real Estate Team has been involved in hundreds of 1031 tax-deferred exchanges involving all types of properties and the many issues related to such transactions. These include related party issues, the same taxpayer requirement, qualified uses and applicable holding periods, partnership "split-ups," identification requirements and exchanges of undivided fractional interests in real property. The Real Estate Team has been involved in both tax-deferred exchanges and reverse exchanges helping clients defer income taxes on substantial taxable gains.
