Charlie Bans is a partner in Maslon's Real Estate Group, with more than 30 years experience in the commercial real estate field. Charlie has extensive experience in representing both sellers and purchasers of all types of commercial real estate as well as both lenders and borrowers in all types of commercial financing transactions and lessors and tenants in the negotiation and drafting of all types of commercial leases, including anchor tenant and major office leases, as well as ground leases. Charlie has represented both brokers and owners in real estate brokerage agreements, and both managers and owners in the negotiation and drafting of management contracts. Charlie has had extensive experience in issues related to title insurance, easement agreements and Section 1031 tax-deferred exchanges.

Experience
  • Charles Bans has assisted in more than 240 purchases and sales for a major Minneapolis developer of commercial properties, including the sale of a $75 million technology campus, the sale of major downtown Minneapolis office buildings, the purchase of many retail shopping centers, the purchase of "Town Square" in downtown St. Paul, and the purchase and sale of hundreds of apartment complexes throughout the Twin Cities area. Charles has also represented financial institutions in construction loans, permanent loans and land development loans to hundreds of Twin Cities real estate investors and developers.
