The Maslon summer program is an opportunity to tailor your summer experience to your interests, both in the law and outside the law. We will invite you to tell us about what you have done and what you want to do in an effort to make your summer unique and fulfilling.
Individualize Your Program
We will work with you to develop a summer program individualized to your wants and desires. You will work in as many areas of the law as you would like and have a chance to attend depositions, hearings, negotiations and closings. If you draft a motion, you will attend the oral argument. If you research a securities question in connection with a public offering, you will go to the printer to review the final prospectus.
Staff Meeting
Each week you will meet, together with the other summer associates, with our lawyer who coordinates our summer program. You will have an opportunity to self-select work assignments, as well as talk with your peers about your current projects.
Evaluation
Our lawyers will give you constant feedback; during and after each assignment. Our summer program coordinator will also meet with you informally during the course of the summer to review your projects.
Pro Bono
Many of our lawyers participate in various pro bono projects from immigration to children's advocacy to representing tenants in housing court. In addition, every summer we donate hours of labor to build a house as part of Habitat for Humanity. We invite you to join us in all our pro bono endeavors this summer.
Social Events
You will have many chances to see our lawyers outside the firm at informal lunches, for dinner in their homes, at a Saints game, water-skiing, etc. You will also have a chance to attend Orchestra Hall and meet with a group of musicians.
