Nadege Souvenir is a member of Maslon's Litigation Group. She represents business entities and individuals in commercial litigation in the areas of employment litigation, competitive practices/unfair competition, intellectual property litigation, construction litigation, and general business litigation. Nadege has successfully represented both plaintiffs and defendants in multiple state and federal jurisdictions.

Nadege graduated magna cum laude from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. During law school, she served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Michael J. Davis of the Federal District Court for the District of Minnesota and was managing editor of the Hamline Law Review. In addition, Nadege participated in the National Moot Court Competition, winning an award for best brief in the region. Nadege earned her bachelor's degrees in communication studies and dance from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa and her master's degree in arts administration from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Before becoming an attorney, Nadege was the Foundation and Government Grants Officer for The Children's Theatre Company.

Experience

  • Paulson et al. v. 3M, C2-04-6309 (State of Minnesota, Washington County District Court). Defeated motion seeking class certification of a 67,000 member putative class claiming chemical exposure via drinking water contamination (2007) and obtained a defense verdict on the merits after a seven-week jury trial (2009).
  • Aiu v. ValueVision Media, Inc. Member of litigation team that represented ValueVision Media, Inc. against former CEO who sought millions in severance pay and other damages when she was terminated from her position allegedly without cause. Her claim asserted breach of her employment agreement and various violations of Minnesota wage-related statutes, whereas ValueVision contended she was terminated for gross negligence. The matter was settled after significant discovery for a fraction of plaintiff's claimed damages.
  • Murchison v. Marathon Petroleum Company, LLC et al., No. 0:08-cv-04840-DSD-JJK (D. Minn.). Local counsel for engineering company in multi-party personal injury litigation. Helped obtain favorable settlement for client.
