Tom Borman specializes in Government Relations and has a wealth of experience in national, state and local politics. He recently served as Senior Advisor to Governor Mark Dayton's Transition Team. The Transition Team was responsible for the appointment of Governor Dayton's office staff as well as all of the Commissioners. In addition, Tom was the Finance Chair of the Dayton for Governor campaign. Tom's past campaign experience includes serving as the Finance Chair for both the Moe for Governor and Dayton for U.S. Senate campaigns. He served on the Finance Committees for the campaigns of Kerry for President and Daschle for U.S. Senate.
Tom served as Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Commerce from 1990-1991. During his tenure he oversaw the regulation of the State's insurance, banking and securities, and real estate industries.
Before joining Maslon, Tom served as Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Gerald Heaney, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
