Maslon Welcomes Associates Sam Cook, Evan Nelson, Mike Sheran, and Hillary Taylor to the Firm

Maslon is pleased to announce the addition of associates Sam Cook, Evan Nelson, Mike Sheran, and Hillary Taylor to the firm. Each will further strengthen Maslon's capabilities in key areas of practice for our clients.

Sam joins Maslon's Business & Securities Group and focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions and general counsel services. He received his law degree, summa cum laude, from the University of St. Thomas School of Law, where he served as a senior editor of the University of St. Thomas Law Journal. Sam was also named a President's Scholar and Dwyer-Kanca Law Scholar, and he volunteered for the Minnesota Justice Foundation. Sam earned his bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Minnesota.

Evan joins Maslon's Litigation Group, focusing his practice on business litigation. Evan graduated from the University of North Dakota School of Law, where he held many leadership roles, including a term on the Moot Court Board and two years as president of the Environmental Law Society. He also served as judicial extern to The Honorable Kermit E. Bye of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Evan is not yet admitted in Minnesota—his swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for November 17, 2016.

Mike joins Maslon's Litigation Group, focusing his practice on business litigation. He received his law degree, summa cum laude, from Mitchell Hamline College of Law, where he served as assistant editor and staff member of the William Mitchell Law Review. While in law school, Mike served as judicial extern to The Honorable Susan R. Nelson of the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. Mike received his bachelor's degree in finance from Creighton University.

Hillary joins Maslon's Litigation Group and focuses her practice on general commercial litigation and tort and product liability. She graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was on the managing editorial board of the Journal of Law & Politics. While in law school, Hillary was awarded the Virginia Law Dean's Scholarship and was selected as a Dillard Fellow to assist in legal research and writing instruction. She also served as president of the Lambda Law Alliance and was involved in the Black Law Students Association.
