August 24, 2016

Maslon is pleased to announce that Brad Pederson, partner in Maslon's Business & Securities Group, has been elected to the Board of Directors of AchieveMpls. As the strategic nonprofit partner of the Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS), AchieveMpls is dedicated to closing the achievement gap by preparing inner-city students to be career and college ready and accomplish their dreams of college, meaningful work, and a bright future.

Brad noted that, "I'm extremely proud to serve as a board member for AchieveMpls. It's a true privilege to play an active role in helping a local, impactful organization ensure the next generation of MPS students have more opportunities to advance and achieve. The success of this organization pays dividends to the Twin Cities by helping to create and maintain for future generations a diverse and competent citizenry and workforce."

Additionally, Maslon participates in the STEP-UP Achieve youth employment program through AchieveMpls, providing two paid internships throughout the summer, and is celebrating its 60th anniversary by making a five-year $60,000 financial commitment to AchieveMpls.

Brad represents manufacturers, brewers, and other businesses in venture formations, raising capital, corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, and general corporate matters. He has a diverse client base and enjoys working with businesses at different points of their life cycles. Brad works with entrepreneurs and dynamic start-ups to develop scalable business models and corporate structures for growth and raising capital. He also works with established businesses to continue to grow organically and through strategic acquisitions as well as to realize exit events.
