Leora Maccabee Honored by the Minneapolis Jewish Federation

April 18, 2012

Leora Maccabee, member of Maslon's Litigation Group, was recognized by the Minneapolis Jewish Federation as one of the "Real Mensches of Minneapolis" during an "Andy Cohen Live!" event sponsored by Young Leadership of the Minneapolis Jewish Federation on April 21, 2012. The award recognizes outstanding individuals who devote themselves to strengthening the Minneapolis Jewish community.

Leora is the founder and president of Jewfolk Media, Inc, a 501(c)(3) Minnesota non-profit organization committed to (1) using interactive technology and social media to connect individuals to Jewish ideas, organizations and communities, and (2) increasing the number and quality of Jewish moments experienced by people of all ages and backgrounds - whether those moments be religious, cultural, educational or social. She also serves as editor-in-chief of its current project TCJewfolk.com, a multi-author daily online magazine and virtual communal space primarily aimed at young Jewish adults in their 20s, 30s and 40s in Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Leora Maccabee practices in the areas of general commercial and torts & products liability litigation. During law school, Leora clerked for United States District Court Judge John R. Tunheim; the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Minnesota; and the American Civil Liberties Union, Minnesota Chapter.
