Voice of Maslon
When I joined Maslon as a lateral associate in the Fall of 2012, I had six years of experience at another firm. I was practicing in a very specific area of litigation, and I was interested in branching out into different legal areas. I was looking for a firm that would recognize my past experience while providing support and mentorship in new substantive areas. Firm culture was also an important factor. I have always worked with people I like and respect; and that is not something I was willing to compromise. I reached out to Maslon for these reasons.
During my interviews, we talked a lot about the fit between a firm and its attorneys, and that is something people here take seriously. Maslon works hard to maintain a good balance between its investment in its associates and our work for the firm. I have a very diverse group of cases, which is exactly the kind of practice I want. The partners on my files have given me room to work my cases while providing solid support and strategic direction. There is a strong sense of camaraderie among the associates, and when inevitably faced with difficult projects or deadlines, we are always ready to help each other out. I am also constantly impressed by the work of our staff.
Something made clear to me early on was that once you join Maslon, the firm wants you to stay. That quality is reflected in all aspects of Maslon's operations, and it makes for an exceptional experience as an attorney.
