Maslon Welcomes Attorneys RJ Shea and Haley-Rose Severson to the Firm

Maslon is pleased to announce the addition of attorneys RJ Shea and Haley-Rose Severson to the firm.

RJ is an associate in the firm’s Corporate & Securities Group who guides clients through a wide range of transactional and corporate matters. He has a strong track record of successfully drafting and negotiating license agreements and other commercial contracts with a focus on technology-related agreements, including software, biotech, and intellectual property licenses. RJ also has experience negotiating complex mergers and acquisitions, including conducting due diligence for intellectual property issues.

Prior to joining Maslon, RJ worked as an attorney in large AmLaw 100 firms in New York and Minneapolis. He earned his J.D. from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and a bachelor of science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Haley-Rose, an associate in the Litigation Group, advises clients on a range of commercial disputes and general litigation matters. She brings to her practice extensive trial experience gained as an assistant county attorney in Minnesota. In her most recent position in the Hennepin County Attorney's Office, Haley-Rose managed over 100 concurrent cases, conducting jury trials and motion hearings, presenting evidence through witnesses and exhibits, analyzing extensive discovery materials, and spearheading negotiations with opposing counsel.

At the University of Minnesota Law School, where she earned her J.D., Haley-Rose served as the co-founder and co-president of the Native American Law Students' Association and as a leader on the Student Affinity Council. She also earned her B.A. from the University of Minnesota.
