Barry Gersick and Brad Pederson Close $170M Business Deal for Jacobs Trading, LLC

Barry Gersick and Brad Pederson represented Jacobs Trading, LLC in the sale of its salvage and liquidation business to Liquidity Services, Inc., a publicly-traded leading provider of online marketplaces and integrated services for surplus assets. The deal, which closed effective October 1, 2011, resulted in a transaction yielding cash, stock, a promissory note and performance-based consideration proceeds of $170 million.

Jacobs Trading , LLC is a provider of remarketing and reverse logistics solutions with an over 20-year track record of service excellence to leading Fortune 500 retailers and consumer goods manufacturers.

Barry Gersick, a partner in Maslon's Business & Securities Group, practices in the areas of taxation, business matters, and estate planning. He has assisted owners of businesses in numerous acquisitions and divestitures.

Brad Pederson is a member of Maslon's Business & Securities Group, and focuses his practice primarily in mergers & acquisitions, securities, corporate finance and general corporate matters.
