November 7, 2019

Maslon attorneys Susan Link, Diana Marianetti, Michael Sampson, and Julian Zebot as well as paralegal Cindy Costello will present at Minnesota CLE's Probate A to Z Webcast Series throughout the month of November. Designed to cover all the important steps in the probate process, this informative series provides value to both the experienced and the inexperienced practitioner alike.

On November 7, Susan and Cindy will co-present a session titled "Opening an Estate, Inventory, and Disclaimers," in which they will take an in-depth look at the important considerations that accompany the opening of an estate. They will discuss topics including the personal representative, initial documentation, and special administration.

On November 15, Michael will present a session titled "How to Handle Tax Issues in Estate Administration," which will walk through the various taxation issues that may arise during the administration of an estate. Topics will include filing the final individual income tax return, portability, assessment and discharge, and more.

On November 26, Diana and Julian will present a session titled "Review of Recommended Orders, Post-Trial Motions, and Appeals in Estate Litigation," which will seek to demystify, for litigators and estate planners alike, the relevant deadlines and procedure with respect to statutory review of recommended orders, post-trial motions, and appeals. Later that afternoon, Diana and Julian will present a session titled "Professional Responsibility," which will take a closer look at issues of competence, scope of representation, diligence and communication, attorney’s fees, conflicts of interest, attorney as a witness, dealing with the court, dealing with unrepresented persons, and compliance with rules for tax practitioners.
