Maslon Sponsors 9th Annual Minnesota Cup Competition; Attorney Shawn McIntee Grand Prize Review Board Member

March 18, 2013

Maslon is pleased to continue its sponsorship of the Minnesota Cup competition. Now in its 9th year, the Minnesota Cup competition is the largest statewide new venture competition in the country for entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative business ideas. Maslon will sponsor the final awards event at the University of Minnesota's McNamara Alumni Center on September 11, 2013.

In addition to the firm's support, Shawn McIntee, partner in Maslon's Business & Securities Group, will serve as a grand prize review board member. Review board member selections are based on extensive experience working with leading, early-stage growth companies and providing feedback, mentorship and resources that have led to success. Maslon has been a sponsor and Shawn has participated with the Minnesota Cup since its inception.

Minnesota Cup is for Minnesota's entrepreneurs, inventors and small business people that are pursuing their dreams and working on their breakthrough business idea. Contestants across six divisions—Energy & Clean Technology, Life Science & Health IT, High Tech, Social Entrepreneur, General, and Student—will compete for a variety of awards, including seed capital, intended to assist them as they pursue their entrepreneurial dreams.

Shawn McIntee focuses his practice in the areas of advising public and private businesses, mergers and acquisitions, corporate and commercial law (including contracts and electronic commerce), and software and emerging companies. He has extensive experience advising clients on day-to-day legal and business matters, as well as in assisting clients with the purchase and sale of businesses, including the divestiture of divisions, and management buyouts.
