We're All In! Maslon Represents WORLD POKER TOUR® Owner in Successful IPO

November 5, 2004

Recently, our lawyers represented WPT Enterprises, Inc. in its $38 million initial public offering. The company (Nasdaq: WPTE) is a media and entertainment company engaged in the creation of branded entertainment through the development, production and marketing of televised programming based on poker and other gaming themes. To date, operations have principally revolved around the creation of the WORLD POKER TOUR® brand through the production and licensing of a reality television series exhibited on the Travel Channel that is based on a circuit of previously-established high-stakes poker tournaments. The Maslon firm has represented WPT since its organization and helped guide the company successfully through the process of reorganizing into corporate form, describing its business in plain English in the offering prospectus and registering the offering with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Our firm was proud to participate in one of the few completed IPOs in the past several years with a Minnesota connection. WPT is a majority-owned subsidiary of Lakes Entertainment, Inc. (Nasdaq: LACO), Minneapolis, which is also represented by Maslon. Please contact one of Maslon's Business & Securities Attorneys for further information.
