Session 1: Managing Coverage, Liabilities, and Risk in Corporate Transactions

Corporate acquisitions, whether by merger or asset purchase, raise a host of critical insurance challenges, including coverage gaps, legacy liabilities, and policy compatibility between merging entities. This presentation highlights how these issues can affect valuation, risk allocation, and post-closing stability, and offers practical strategies to mitigate exposure by securing and accessing “inherited” insurance assets. Participants will gain a clear understanding of how insurance considerations shape both the structure and long-term outcomes of corporate transactions.

Presenter: Judah Druck, Partner, Maslon LLP

Session 2: From Labels to Links: Defending Product Warnings and Instructions in the Digital Age

From QR codes to YouTube videos, product-related warnings and instructions are rapidly changing in response to technology advancements and evolving consumer expectations. In this presentation, Maslon Partner Stephanie Laws will discuss current standards for product warnings, the risks presented to manufacturers, and strategies for successfully defeating failure-to-warn claims in 2025 and beyond.

Session 3: The CPSC Compliance Playbook: Requirements and Best Practices that Every Manufacturer Should Know

When are product manufacturers required to report dangerous products and related lawsuits to the CPSC, and what are the consequences for failing to report? What are the pros and cons of completing a product recall through the CPSC’s Fast Track Recall Program, and what does participation in the program require? In this session, Maslon Partner Katie Maechler will answer these questions and more, providing attendees with practical strategies for remaining compliant with the CPSC and avoiding civil penalties.
