Julian Zebot Honored with 2026 Mentoring Award from the Minnesota State Bar Association

October 1, 2026

Maslon is pleased to announce that Julian Zebot, partner and chair of the Trust & Estate Litigation Group and Maslon board member, has been honored with the 2026 Mentoring Award from the Minnesota State Bar Association Senior Lawyers & Judges Section for his “outstanding commitment to mentoring the next generation of attorneys.”

In an announcement, the MSBA said “Julian Zebot is recognized for creating meaningful opportunities for junior attorneys to develop their skills and confidence. He encourages those he mentors to stretch into new responsibilities while providing the support they need to succeed. He leads with empathy, accountability, and trust, and his example has inspired those he mentors to become mentors themselves.”

Partner Evan Nelson described Julian as “the kind of mentor who builds up colleagues to be thorough, passionate, and ethical lawyers. He sets the standard and patiently encourages and helps newer lawyers get to that standard.”

Julian focuses his legal practice on probate, fiduciary, and trust litigation as well as business and commercial litigation. He has counseled and represented individual and business clients in both federal and state courts as well as arbitration proceedings, and he has handled matters for clients at all stages of the litigation process, including mediation, trials, and appeals.

His recent cases include litigation involving family trusts established for the heirs of a major timber products company, litigation involving beneficiaries of an estate owning a major snack foods company, and trustee removal litigation with respect to trusts that own an upscale grocery chain.

Julian is ranked in Chambers High Net Worth Guide for Private Wealth Law and is a fellow in the invitation-only American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). He is also a frequent author and speaker.
