Kimberly Slay Elected to the Minnesota Opera Board of Directors

June 26, 2024

Maslon is pleased to announce that Litigation Partner Kimberly Slay has been elected to the Minnesota Opera Board of Directors for a three-year term. Founded in 1963, the Minnesota Opera is a leading American company, admired as an innovative creator of compelling opera productions, programs, and new works.

"As a lifelong music lover, I am excited to help the Minnesota Opera further its mission to advance the art of opera for today and future generations by expanding the circle of musical storytelling," Kimberly said.

In her legal practice, Kimberly represents corporate clients in product liability, insurance coverage, tax law, and commercial disputes. She leverages significant experience in public service to guide clients through the complexities of federal, state, and local government regulations. Kimberly previously served as general counsel for Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton and Lt. Gov. Tina Smith, where she gained a deep understanding of government operations and developed relationships with key stakeholders, including legislators, executive branch officials, and state agency personnel. Kim has effectively assisted clients with navigating a multitude of governmental and environmental issues, such as permitting natural resource operations, including mining, water quality, and air quality permits.
