Margo Brownell, Jason Lien, and David Suchar to Present at Insurance Law Institute for Minnesota CLE

Maslon attorneys Margo Brownell, Jason Lien, and David Suchar will present at Minnesota CLE's Insurance Law Institute on March 30, 2015. Margo, Jason, and David will cover a wide range of topics designed to help both policyholder and insurer-side lawyers.
As course co-chair, Margo Brownell will kick off the day-long event with a welcome and introduction. During a morning breakout session, she will co-present "Key Issues to Watch For in 2015." In the afternoon, Jason Lien and David Suchar will co-present a breakout session titled, "Anatomy of a Bad Faith Case: Litigating Multi-District, Multi-Defendant, Large Scale Cases," which will discuss navigating choice of law and forum selection issues, attorney-client privilege disputes, the role of third party administrators and other insurance professionals, and much more.
Margo Brownell is a partner in Maslon's Litigation Group and head of the Insurance Litigation and Insurance Coverage Counseling Groups. She represents commercial policyholders with complex insurance claims under all types of property and liability policies, including commercial general liability, directors and officers liability, professional liability, cyber-liability, and intellectual property liability coverage. In addition, she handles complex property claims, such as those arising from major catastrophic events such as the terrorist attacks of 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina, as well as claims under financial institution bonds and commercial crime policies. Margo is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Minnesota Law School, where she teaches insurance law.
Jason Lien is a partner in Maslon's Litigation Group, and an experienced trial lawyer who practices commercial litigation in a wide range of substantive areas, with a special emphasis on litigation involving the construction, real estate, food, and healthcare industries. He has appeared in federal and state court on behalf of food companies, design-build firms, general contractors, architects, specialty contractors, property management companies, real estate owners, and lenders.
David Suchar is a trial lawyer and partner at Maslon and a member of the firm's Construction and Litigation Groups. He represents clients in complex commercial litigation with an emphasis on construction, insurance coverage, and intellectual property litigation. Before joining Maslon, David served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney (federal prosecutor) at the U.S. Department of Justice where he represented the United States as lead counsel in hundreds of contested hearings in federal district court and oral arguments in the United States Court of Appeals.
