Michael Sampson to Co-Chair and Present for Minnesota CLE's Understanding Trusts Seminar
February 23, 2016
Michael Sampson, partner in Maslon's Estate Planning Group, will co-chair Minnesota CLE's Understanding Trusts seminar on February 23, 2016. Michael will kick off the day-long event with a presentation titled, "Introduction to Trusts: The Basics," where he will discuss the basic meanings of terms, trust use, and client benefits. In the afternoon, Michael will present "New Tools in Minnesota's New Uniform Trust Code: Directed Trusts, Silent Trusts, Decanting" while discussing new options available under Minnesota's new Uniform Trust Code in detail, including the creation and use of directed trusts, the opportunity for "silent" trusts, and new decanting options and related utility and tax consequences.
Michael's legal practice focuses on high-end estate and tax planning, estate and trust administration, charitable planning, and business succession planning. Michael helps his clients focus on what it is they really want to accomplish with their wealth. After assisting his clients in identifying their specific wealth planning goals, Michael works with them and their other professional advisors to develop and implement wealth transfer strategies that are consistent not only with their goals, but also with their cash flow needs and tolerance for risk.
