October 31, 2016
Michael Sampson, partner in Maslon's Estate Planning Group, will co-present a seminar for Minnesota CLE titled "The Business Lawyer's Guide to Estate Planning for Owners of Closely Held Businesses" on October 31, 2016. The seminar, part of the Business Law Boost! Series, will give business attorneys a better understanding of estate planning and tax issues that affect their business owner clients. Topics to be covered include common business succession strategies, trusts and estates interests, valuation of family owned business interests, tax issues involved in buy-sell agreements, and more.
Michael's legal practice focuses on high-end estate and tax planning, estate and trust administration, charitable planning, and business succession planning. He helps his clients focus on what it is they really want to accomplish with their wealth. After assisting his clients in identifying their specific wealth planning goals, Michael works with them and their other professional advisors to develop and implement wealth transfer strategies that are consistent not only with their goals, but also with their cash flow needs and tolerance for risk.
