Steve Schleicher, Jevon Bindman, and Alina Yasis Present CLE on New Rules (and Risk) for Attorney-Client Privilege for Association of Corporate Counsel Minnesota
April 21, 2022
The Association of Corporate Counsel-Minnesota chapter features three Maslon attorneys as CLE presenters April 21 on what corporate counsel can do to best protect their data from the risk of disclosure in light of recent court rulings on attorney-client privilege. Partner Steve Schleicher, renowned trial lawyer and co-chair of Maslon's Investigations Group, is joined by litigation attorney Jevon Bindman and corporate and securities attorney Alina Yasis to present—with key support from litigation attorney Carly Johnson.
Steve concentrates his work on high stakes criminal and civil litigation, government and internal investigations, and appellate practice. Most recently, he has been recognized for his role as a pro bono special prosecutor in the internationally televised homicide trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin for the murder of George Floyd. In his white collar criminal defense practice, Steve represents individuals accused of financial crimes involving health care, agriculture, and corporate embezzlement. Steve's investigations practice has included a high profile investigation of a private security company holding a contract at a major NFL venue that resulted in its termination; a data security breach and IP theft conspiracy at a major automobile manufacturer; and internal investigations and government compliance on behalf of health care providers, including hospital systems and physicians.
Jevon focuses his work on construction, insurance coverage, and appellate litigation as well as antitrust and general commercial matters. He has taken numerous complex matters to jury verdict, and helps both Fortune 500 companies and "mom and pop" operations to navigate all phases of the litigation process. Jevon has significant experience in contract disputes, franchise and competitive practices claims, policyholder insurance coverage claims, construction defect and mechanic’s lien claims, and shareholder disputes. He also regularly handles appeals in the Eighth Circuit and Minnesota appellate courts.
Alina advises clients on general corporate law, contracts, and mergers and acquisitions. While earning her law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School, Alina served as a legal extern at UCare and as a Twin Cities Diversity in Practice law clerk at Medtronic, positions through which she gained a unique understanding of in-house operations and corporate structure.
