Maslon Elects Attorneys Shauro Bagchi, Ana Chilingarishvili, Katie Maechler, and Steve Schleicher to the Firm's Partnership

Maslon is pleased to announce that attorneys Shauro Bagchi, Ana Chilingarishvili, Katie Maechler, and Steve Schleicher have been elected to the firm's Partnership, effective January 1, 2018. The election acknowledges their tremendous skill, professionalism, and commitment to client service.

Shauro is a partner in Maslon's Business & Securities Group, focusing his practice primarily on national and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, business counseling, and general commercial contract drafting. He is passionate and energetic about helping companies (both established and entrepreneurial) achieve their business and financial goals by providing practical, efficient and business-minded legal advice. Shauro has significant experience in negotiating and drafting equity and asset sale transaction documents, merger agreements, securities offering memoranda, and various commercial agreements. He has previous experience working for the in-house corporate legal team of a Fortune 500 Minnesota company and the United States Department of Justice. Shauro has lived internationally in Asia, Africa, and Central America, and brings his unique, diverse, and international perspectives to bear on solving real-world problems for his clients.

Ana is a partner in Maslon's Financial Services Group. She represents financial institutions serving as corporate trustees for municipal and corporate bonds and mortgage-backed securities. Ana's practice includes counseling corporate trustees on issues relating to the administration of corporate trustee’s duties and powers after the occurrence of an event of default. She also has extensive experience representing corporate trustees in trust instruction proceedings. Ana's prior experience includes working in the legal department at Target Corporation and as an associate in the finance and restructuring group of a large law firm.

Katie is a partner in Maslon's Litigation Group. Her practice is focused on product liability litigation, and since joining Maslon in 2012, she has successfully represented major medical device manufacturers in federal and state courts throughout the country. Prior to joining Maslon, Katie worked at a private law firm in Texas where she represented clients in a variety of complex litigation matters, including business torts and breach of contract disputes.

Steve is an experienced trial lawyer and partner in Maslon's Litigation Group as well as co-chair of Maslon's Government & Internal Investigations Group. He concentrates his work on high stakes civil litigation and products liability cases, government and internal investigations, and white-collar criminal matters. Steve has 22 years' experience as a trial lawyer in state and federal court, having spent his career as a prosecuting attorney before joining Maslon. He was a federal prosecutor for 13 years, during which he worked on several high-profile criminal cases, including RICO, fraud, and homicide matters, and he served as the Deputy Criminal Chief of the Special Prosecution Section and the St. Paul Branch Chief of the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Minnesota. Steve has also served as a JAG Corps Officer in the United States Army Reserve, an Assistant Minnesota Attorney General, and an Assistant Winona County Attorney.
