Maslon Partner Steve Schleicher Featured on The Advocacy Podcast to Discuss His Work as Pro Bono Special Prosecutor in the Chauvin Trial

January 20, 2022

Steve Schleicher, a partner in Maslon's Litigation and Government & Internal Investigations groups, was interviewed for The Advocacy Podcast on the art of trial advocacy and his work as pro bono special prosecutor in the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin. Steve was featured alongside colleague Jerry Blackwell, who also served as part of the Minnesota attorney general's team, for the discussion with host Bibi Badejo.

The podcast series will feature two episodes with Steve and Jerry; the first—focusing on preparations for the trial—was shared Jan. 19. The second, focusing on the trial itself, is due to be released next week.

Steve is a renowned trial lawyer with deep experience in high profile cases. He concentrates his work on high stakes criminal and civil litigation, government and internal investigations, and appellate practice. During the trial of Chauvin for Floyd's murder, Steve received high praise for his prominent role conducting jury selection and witness examination. His cross-examination of the defense use-of-force expert received national acclaim, and his powerful closing was broadly viewed as a pivotal factor in the trial verdict.
