Staff Accountant Analyst
Maslon LLP is seeking a Staff Accountant Analyst in the firm’s Minneapolis office. Position Description: The Staff Accountant Analyst supports the firm’s accounting and financial reporting functions with a primary focus on accounts payable processing and account reconciliations. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial records, timely vendor payments, and efficient month-end close processes.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare timely and accurate bank and general ledger account reconciliations; investigate variances and resolve reconciling items.
- Process accounts payable transactions, including reviewing invoices for accuracy, coding to appropriate general ledger accounts, and ensuring proper approvals.
- Prepare payment runs (checks/ACH/wires as applicable) in accordance with firm policies, maintain supporting documentation, and ensure payments are issued accurately and on time.
- Maintain vendor files, including W-9 collection, vendor setup/changes, and respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoice and payment status.
- Support month-end close by preparing AP accruals, reconciling AP subledger to the general ledger, and assisting with required schedules and reporting.
- Prepare and post journal entries, including recurring entries and reclasses, with appropriate support and approvals.
- Ensure compliance with firm policies, accounting standards, and internal controls
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance efficiency within the accounting function
- Provide backup support for other accounting functions and complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a professional services environment.
- Solid understanding of accounts payable and general accounting practices.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., Aderant or similar system) preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $33.33 - $38.46/hour depending on the candidate’s experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications.
