Steve Schleicher to Be Honored with the Praeses Elit Award from Trinity College Dublin

August 31, 2021

Maslon is pleased to announce that Steve Schleicher, a partner in Maslon's Government & Internal Investigations Group, will be honored with the Trinity College Dublin Praeses Elit Award for his pro bono work as a special prosecutor in the Derek Chauvin trial.

The award, founded by the former Irish President Mary Robinson, honors those who have advanced discourse in their line of work and who have been "a source of inspiration for young people everywhere," the college said. This year, the Trinity College Law Society, which chooses the honorees, placed special emphasis on individuals who have inspired others to achieve their full potential.

The Chauvin trial, in which the former Minneapolis police officer was convicted for the murder of George Floyd, was "a case that gripped the world" and "ignited significant discourse amongst our generation," a Law Society spokeswoman said.

Steve will attend an award ceremony and address Trinity College students on the Dublin, Ireland, campus on Sept. 30, 2021.
