Conflicts Administrator
Maslon LLP is seeking a Conflicts Administrator in the firm’s Minneapolis office. Position Description: The Conflicts Administrator is responsible for performing conflict-of-interest searches and analyses for new clients, new matters, lateral hires, and other firm business initiatives. This role supports the firm’s ethical and professional responsibility obligations. The Conflicts Administrator works closely with attorneys, intake personnel, and firm management to identify, analyze, and help resolve potential conflicts issues.
Responsibilities:
Conflicts Searches & Analysis
- Conduct conflict searches for new clients, new matters, lateral attorney candidates, and related parties using the firm’s conflicts database and the firm’s document management system.
- Review search results to identify potential legal and business conflicts.
- Evaluate corporate affiliations, parent/subsidiary relationships, and related entities.
- Prepare conflict reports and summaries for attorneys and firm management.
- Escalate complex conflicts to the Client Account Manager, or General Counsel, as appropriate.
New Matter Intake
- Process new client and matter intake requests accurately and timely.
- Ensure all required information is collected for conflicts clearance and matter opening.
- Verify client names and party information.
- Coordinate with attorneys and administrative departments to facilitate matter opening.
Ethical Compliance
- Assist with compliance with firm policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client and firm information.
- Monitor adherence to ethical walls and screening procedures.
Database Maintenance
- Maintain accurate client and matter information within conflicts and intake systems.
- Update records to reflect mergers, acquisitions, name changes, and related entities.
- Assist with data cleanup and quality control initiatives.
Communication & Collaboration
- Respond to attorney and staff inquiries regarding conflicts procedures and status updates.
- Collaborate with attorneys and administrative teams.
- Provide guidance on intake requirements and conflicts policies.
Other duties as assigned including those related to records management.
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
- 2–5 years of law firm conflicts, intake, or related legal administrative experience preferred.
- Experience using legal conflicts software such as Intapp, Aderant, or similar systems is highly desirable.
- Experience using document management systems such as iManage or NetDocuments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and database systems.
- Understanding of legal conflicts principles and professional responsibility rules.
- Strong database management and data-entry accuracy skills.
- Strong search, analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Familiarity with AI
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.

The firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $29.23 - $33.33/hour depending on the candidate’s experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications.
